Dragon-enshrined Shirine, Power Spot in Awaji Island, Hyogo

Aiga Iwado Shinryu Shrine is located on the central and eastern coast of Awaji Island and a small shrine, however it is a power spot where a dragon is enshrined. After finishing your prayer, you will look back at the torii gate from the cave and there you will see a unique atmosphere. The Shrine enshrines the dragon, and there is a legend about the dragon and the god that came to enshrine the dragon below.

"Long time ago, there was a small god living in Iwado Shrine who was cherished by the villagers. The god had a dragon who always protected him, and they lived together in harmony. As time passed, the number of visitors to the shrine decreased, so the locals made a plan to move the god back to a larger shrine so that he would not feel lonely. While the dragon was away from the shrine on some errands for the god, the local people moved the god to the larger shrine, Ano Hachiman Shrine. The dragon returned home unaware of this and searched for the god, but he was nowhere to be found. It is said that the dragon still waits at the shrine, believing that the god will return someday."

In order to enshrine this honest dragon as a symbol of trust, the shrine was rebuilt. Looking back, you can see the torii gate and Osaka Bay beyond it. If you move back a little and look at the entrance of the cave, do you see some kind of shape? Correct! It's shaped just like Awaji Island. The torii gate and Awaji Island can be seen from inside the cave. It's a perfect place to take photos.
